I am so happy Amazon is finally displaying more realistic and accurate delivery dates.
Until recently, I was getting accustomed to buying a product with an expected delivery date that would keep changing. In the last few years, I have bought quite a few things on next door delivery but I don’t remember EVER getting anything next day. To me, “Next Day” meant at least 3 to 7 business days later. The kicker is that the delivery date would mysteriously keep changing to a later date with no notification or change history attached to the order.
In essence, the way I felt was that Amazon was trying to gaslight me by making it seem that I had agreed to 3- week delivery in the first place. If there is one thing in the world I can’t stand, it is being gaslit!
As we all know, the situation with the pandemic made things worse for all delivery services. But Amazon kept showing “Free Next Day Delivery” at the checkout screen for about a year.
Last few times I made a purchase on Amazon they showed a realistic delivery date right from the beginning at the checkout screen! And so far they delivered within a day or two of the target delivery date. Thank you Amazon!
