When you measure time based on what is the latest kernel version, or the kernel version used in your distro of choice, you might be most definitely are a Linux geek.
If you use the StarDate to measure time, that makes you a serious nerd. Be proud, but also be cautious about surprisingly getting beamed up to somewhere.
You might be interested in trying out another way to measure time:
- Year. My personal favorite. Commonly expressed in two different ways:
- BC vs AD (In Christian mythology, “Before God Was Born” vs. “After”)
- BCE vs CE (generally accepted expressions – “Before the Common Era” vs. “Common Era”)
- Condition
- Before the War vs After the War (any war, just refer to it as “The War”)
- Pre-COVID vs. Post-COVID
- In the “Early Days” of _____ (fill in the blank)
- Back when I was ____ (e.g. little, young, strong, still on my training wheels)
- Count
- How many times I’ve slept between two events. Not great for insomniacs.
- How many times I’ve gone to the bathroom between two events. Small bladder = high accuracy.
- How many relationships I’ve gone through between two events. This one actually works for some people.
- How many toothbrushes I’ve replaced between two events. Should be ~ 3 months.
- How much Fireball I’ve consumed between two events. For me about one liter per week.
- How many countries/states/cities I’ve visited between two events. Great for travelers!
- Other odd units of time. See this for reference: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_humorous_units_of_measurement#Time
